Who Is Equitable Gas?
Prior to 2013, the Equitable Gas company serviced the Pennsylvania cities of Pittsburgh, Indiana, Altoona, Clarion, Johnston and Uniontown. In 2013 the utility merged with Peoples Gas, becoming the largest natural gas provider in Pennsylvania. Since merging, Peoples Gas’ service network has extended to parts of West Virginia and Kentucky.
Community Engagement
Equitable Gas made commitments to the betterment of Western Pennsylvania – which has continued since its acquisition by Peoples Gas. As part of the merger, Peoples Gas agreed to stay in Pittsburgh for 10 years to better serve the community and organize conservation programs for its customers.
With a motto like “Making Your Life Better,” it is no wonder Peoples Gas works to serve the community beyond natural gas service. Currently, the company is upgrading its natural gas infrastructure, which can reduce its carbon footprint and create jobs in the community.
Understand PA natural gas switch
Equitable Gas, now Peoples Gas, is a gas utility, which means it will deliver PA natural gas service to your home or business. However, in this service area, consumers have the power to choose their natural gas supplier – thanks to PA Gas Switch.
Although consumers can choose Peoples Gas to deliver and supply gas to their home or business, alternative suppliers may offer different benefits to consumers – such as competitive rates or long-term fixed-rate plans.
Contact information in case of emergency
Although an alternative gas supplier may offer you a competitive supply rate, it cannot restore your gas or repair a gas leak. If you smell gas, leave the building and contact Peoples Gas.
