OhmConnect was founded in 2013 in California with a simple goal: reduce energy. After several years of growth in California, the company entered the Texas deregulated energy market in 2022. OhmConnect Energy plans
OhmConnect offers fixed-rate energy plans with 12, 24, or 36-month agreements throughout Texas. Subscribers can use the OhmConnect app and enroll in OhmConnect text and emails to get notified up to 24 hours before OhmHours.
OhmHours are peak energy demand times when you can conserve energy in your home to earn rewards like cash and gift cards from OhmConnect. OhmSaver Green Connect 24
As its name suggests, this OhmConnect energy plan is made up of 100% renewable energy. Choose this plan to lock in your rate for 24 months. This plan supports renewable energy sources; however, this plan is not a solar buyback plan for solar panel customers. There is no base charge with the OhmSaver Green Connect plan, and an early termination fee of $250 applies.
OhmSaver 12, 24, or 36
OhmSaver is a fixed-rate energy plan with no base charge available for 12, 24, or 36-month terms. The stable rate makes this a great choice for customers unsure of their average monthly energy usage. The 12-month plan carries a $150 early termination fee, while the other two plans are $250 to end early. With the OhmSaver plans, the longer you lock your rate in, the cheaper your price per kWh will be.

OhmConnect Energy offers up to 10 energy plans at fixed-rate prices, so no more worrying about fluctuating rates or surprises on your energy bill. Choose 12, 24, or 36-month plans with additional perks such as half-price overnight rates. Opt into OhmConnect’s alerts for OhmHours, a designated time to lower your energy usage to earn cash and other prizes.
Green energy options with OhmConnect Energy
Every energy plan in Texas must have some of its energy from green energy sources. Solar and wind power are the state’s two most prominent green energy producers. Accordingly, most of OhmConnect’s plans are made up of 25% renewable content. Three plans, the Green Connect 12 and the EVConnect 12 and 24, use 100% renewable energy.
Other OhmConnect Energy initiatives
- Turn down your energy usage during peak demand hours to earn “Watts,” which you can trade for cash and prizes.
- Use smart plugs for your selected devices and allow OhmConnect to automatically power down those appliances during peak demand hours. Doing so gets you AutoOhms and increases the amount of rewards you earn.

- Read the plan’s Electricity Facts Label before signing up. It contains important information, including:
- Price per kilowatt-hour based on usage
- Percentage of renewable energy sourcing
- Early termination fees
- Enjoy hassle-free supplier setup. Once your order has been confirmed, your new supplier will set up service with your utility or transmission and distribution service provider (TDSP) — but don’t worry, there shouldn’t be any interruption to your power during the switch.
- Understand your electricity bill. Your local TDSP will still deliver electricity and maintain electric infrastructure, including meters and power lines. Your utility fees can be found as TDU or TDSP charges on your monthly bill. They are independent of your supplier rate.
How to move or transfer service with OhmConnect Energy
Moving in Texas is simple when you have an OhmConnect Energy plan. Once your utility is set up at your new address, log in to your OhmConnect account. Then, go to Settings > Utility Account & Event Eligibility > I Moved. Here, you can disconnect your previous address and input your new details. We recommend giving a two-week notice to the energy provider when moving, if possible.
